Personal Mail Client (oama + neomutt)

This page describes a personal, single-developer email client setup. It is not a public application and is not distributed to, or usable by, anyone other than its developer and one additional user who is personally known to the developer (immediate family).

What this application does

The application uses oama, an open-source OAuth credential manager, together with standard IMAP/SMTP mail tools (isync/mbsync, msmtp, neomutt) to access Gmail accounts belonging to the developer and one family member, for the sole purpose of reading and sending personal email.

What Google data is accessed

The application requests the https://mail.google.com/ OAuth scope, which permits full IMAP/SMTP access to the authorized Gmail account. This is used exclusively to read, organize, and send email through a personal mail client running on the developer's own machines.

How data is used and stored

OAuth refresh and access tokens are stored locally only, on the developer's own devices, encrypted at rest with GPG. No email content, metadata, or OAuth credentials are transmitted to, processed by, or stored on any third-party server or service. Nothing is sold, shared, or used for advertising or analytics of any kind.

Who can use this

This is not a publicly distributed application. It is used only by its developer and by karyn.and.aron@gmail.com, a family member personally known to the developer. No other individuals or organizations have access to it.
